My Jesus Sent the Holy Spirit

Jesus speaks of sending the Holy Spirit.

8
And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. (John 16:8-11)

1
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:1-4)

When we repent unto salvation there are really three aspects of sin that we need to repent of:
•First we must repent from unbelief.  Until the moment of salvation we are standing at the gate, but refusing to enter.  Unbelief in Jesus is sin.
•Secondly, we must confess to God the sinfulness of our life.  We should repent of any individual episodes of sin that the Holy Spirit brings to mind.
•Thirdly, we must confess that our naturally-birthed heart is desperately wicked, and incapable of pure unselfishness, (this is why we must be born again).  Jesus called it "losing our life"; not suicide, but a surrender of our soul to Jesus for the new life that He gives.
The only righteous life that deserves to be in God's Holy Heaven is the life that Jesus lived and the life of Jesus that flows through his people.

Romans 2:4 reads, "Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?"  All religions ,beside Christianity, focus on man's goodness to gain God's acceptance.  The Bible teaches that God is looking for our faith in His goodness; faith that God would love His creation enough to make a way for us to be accepted.  All we need to do is to receive God's love, by believing that God sent His Son, Jesus, to take the death penalty for sin on our behalf.  Why wouldn't everyone want to believe this?  Obviously Jesus believed it when He willingly went to the cross to be our sacrifice!

My Jesus can be your Jesus too! Please tell Father God that you have decided to place your faith in Jesus, The Son of God. Tell Him that you have been a sinner and now you are sorry for your sins. Confess that you need the sacrifice for sin that Jesus made for you on the cross, and believe that your sins have been forgiven because of the blood and the sacrificial death of Jesus! Ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit so that you can live a new life that pleases and glorifies Him. If you prayed this prayer to God, He heard you and you are now His own dear child. Jesus has gone into Heaven to make a place for you and Jesus has covered you with His own perfect righteousness! You have now made total peace with God according to His new Covenant. Read the Bible and keep praying to Jesus, and The Father, for everything great and small, and be thankful. Also, find a place to worship God with other believers, remembering that they are sinners saved by grace just like you. ***All Bible quotations are from the New King James Version translated from the ancient manuscripts.
